About Me

Bonjour! My name is Lisa Hanlon. I am very excited for my second year teaching French at MMS! I was born and raised in Nelson, BC. I taught in the Cowichan Valley on Vancouver Island, BC for two years prior moving to Norman Wells last year. Before post-secondary studies, I spent a year in French-speaking Switzerland working as an au pair (nanny). I continue to practise and improve my French and feel so lucky there are so many Francophones in the community! My first degree was in Organic Agriculture from the University of Guelph, then I completed my Bachelor of Education at Lakehead University, with a focus in Outdoor Education. I love living in Norman Wells and you will often see me on my bike, hiking, paddling, or skidooing around this beautiful place. I love to be outside and explore and am so grateful to live in such a wonderful and diverse community. I am looking forward to cross-country ski club, going On the Land and continuing to share my passion for the outdoors with my students. It's going to be another great year!
