About Me

I am originally from Colville Lake. I am married with six children, five in school and a 2 year old at home. This is my first year teaching and I am very happy to be part of the staff here at the Mackenzie Mountain School. I attended college in Fort Smith. I graduated April 2015. Moved to Norman Wells a week later. My husband I already knew this was where we wanted to move, so we at this point had a home. I decided to stay home for a year to spend time with my 3 younger children who were born and raised in Fort Smith while I attending college. I have a strong connection to my cultural and traditional way of life. I speak the North slavey language. I want nothing more than to see as much students as possible succeeding and progress in the contemporary society. At the same time carry on the culture and traditional way of life. Education is a major part of my family goal. Which was one of the reasons my family moved to Norman Wells, so my children could have a better chance at completing school and going further in their education. I also want to same for all the students within the Sahtu.
