About Me

Hi everyone, my name is Dora Grandjambe and I am the ALC teacher again this year and started in September of 2012. I personally feel it is a privilege and honor to teach and inspire young minds. I am originally from Fort Good Hope (Radeli Koe). My family moved to Yellowknife in 1989 and we returned to the Sahtu in 2011,to Norman Wells. I have 5 grown children and 15 grandchildren and a new great grandson. I worked in the language field as a certified interpreter and translator for about 40 years before coming to teach here in the school. I love to teach my language because I love my language and culture. I am a strong believer of passing on and preserving my language and culture especially with youth who are our future leaders. I look forward to coming to work everyday and find it rewarding when the children learn new words and phrases and are excited about it. That makes my day!
